The laboratory develops fluid mechanics models from the local scale to the industrial system scale, characterizing & modeling complex flows, fluid-structure interactions and heat transfer phenomena.
The research is founded on experimentation on different scales, a unique portfolio of equipment and a capacity to conduct “turnkey” tests in real and fluid conditions.
These approaches are employed in a variety of fields, including offshore wind, stationary energy storage, CCUS (CO2 capture, compression, transport and injection), geothermal energy, industrial water treatment, "flow assurance" and multi-phase pumping.
